PATT Technologies specializes in creating surface engineered solutions for increased wear resistance, reduced friction, and enhanced corrosion resistance. PATT Technologies works with a broad spectrum of metals including tool steels, stainless steels, cobalt based alloys, nickel based alloys, and titanium based alloys.

PATT has created application solutions utilizing plasma nitriding solutions, monolithic coatings such as TiN, multilayer coatings, and nano-composite coatings.

The primary development work is to utilize one of the applications listed above and refine the process to specifications for a particular material or part geometry. In some instances PATT Technologies will undertake the development of new coatings as a funded research project.

Solutions are found in a timely manner because of an in-house full service materials lab including SEM, scratch testing for coating stability, and wear testing utilizing pin on disk methods.
